PACU Nurse Manager
The Surgery Center of Alta Bates Summit Medical Center
The Surgery Center of Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, Joint Commission accredited, is looking for a dedicated, experienced, quality-driven Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Manager to join our professional patient care team.
The PACU Manager provides clinical and managerial support to the clinical staff. This position provides direct supervision to personnel, while planning, coordinating, and evaluating all aspects of patient care for the Preop Area, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, and Pain Management procedural area. The position performs both clinical and administrative functions to achieve quality patient care and administrative outcomes.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to the Director of Nursing.
Position Supervises:
Clinical nursing and ancillary staff in areas of responsibility.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Licenses or Certifications:
Current California RN License and AHA-BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.
PALS, ACLS required and CPAN certification preferred.
Educational, Vocational Training, and Experience:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. At least 2 years Critical Care experience preferred, and one year in perioperative nursing preferred, with preference to ambulatory surgery services. Supervisory experience is required. Experience in clinical nursing area supervision (Preop and PACU) and Pain Management program experience is preferred.
We are located in a metropolitan area on the boundaries of Berkeley and Oakland. We are adjacent to the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station for easy access via public transportation and we also offer free reserved parking.
