CASA Celebrates Mental Health Awareness Month
At CASA, we understand the critical role mental health plays in both our personal and professional lives, especially in the fast-paced environment of an ambulatory surgery center. This May, we are dedicating Mental Health Month to prioritizing our well-being and fostering open conversations about mental health.
We encourage everyone to take this opportunity to focus on personal mental health by making small, impactful changes in their daily routines.
Things to do to support your own mental health:
- Eating: A balanced diet can improve your mood and energy levels.
- Movement: Regular physical activity can help reduce stress and anxiety.
- Connecting: Maintain relationships with friends and family to feel supported.
- Disconnecting: Take a break from technology.
- Laughing: Laughing triggers the release of endorphins, the body's natural feel-good chemicals. Endorphins promote an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain. So, sharing a joke or watching a funny video can be a simple yet effective way to improve your mood and mental health!
In today's fast-paced world, software applications can also be valuable tools for managing daily routines, practicing meditation or relaxation, and coping with anxiety and depression.
Check out these popular mental health apps:
- Calm: Offers guided meditations, sleep stories, and relaxation music. (Free with in-app purchases)
- Headspace: Provides mindfulness and meditation exercises. (Free trial, then subscription)
- BetterHelp: Connects you with licensed therapists for online counseling. (Subscription-based)
- Moodfit: Helps track your mood and provides tools to improve mental health. (Free with in-app purchases)
- Talkspace: Offers therapy sessions with licensed therapists via text, audio, and video. (Subscription-based)
