CASA California HealthCare Foundation Issue Brief Statement

The following statement was issued by the California Ambulatory Surgery Association (CASA) in response to the California HealthCare Foundation Issue Briefing, “Limited Visibility: Making Information Available on Outpatient Surgery in California.”

“The California Ambulatory Surgery Association (CASA) is committed to patient safety and quality of care. We strongly support robust efforts to implement measures that would allow for a transparent and efficient system, delivering the best care to all patients and providing access to information when making critical decisions about their healthcare to ensure the best health outcomes. We fully support initiatives to mandate public disclosure of all relevant information about quality, safety and price in a user-friendly and easy to understand manner.

CASA is dedicated to continuing providing excellent care to all patients in a safe, healthy environment including high patient satisfaction and low infection rates by highly trained licensed medical professionals,” stated Bill Davis, president of the California Ambulatory Surgery Association.

CASA works on behalf of over 700 Medicare certified Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs) throughout California. ASCs are modern healthcare facilities focused on providing outpatient surgical care, including diagnostic and preventative procedures providing innovative, high-quality, patient centered care and create significant savings for patients and the healthcare system.
