Our team of ophthalmologists, optometrists, and professional support staff handle all aspects of eye/vision care, from general exams to complex surgeries. We are seeking applicants for the position of Ambulatory Services Manager to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center at our EYE-Q Fresno Facility. We are looking for someone who can provide leadership in all areas of patient care. This person will coordinate and supervise the organization and administration within the units. The ideal candidate is someone who is a utility player- who operates with an ownership mindset and is adept at driving decisions across multiple constituents.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Directs and oversees all nursing services in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) in accordance with recognized standards of practice, law and regulation.
  • Participates in leadership, strategic planning, and department development.
  • Directs the management of timekeeping responsibilities for the department and act as a backup such as making corrections and approving timecards for payroll.
  • Manages time-off requests and schedule to ensure adequate staffing is available to cover the demands of the department.
  • Acts as a department resource for staff questions and concerns.
  • Assists in ongoing staff training needs assessments/new hire training and assists Coordinator and/or Team Lead with annual mandatory training and competencies.
  • Participates with Coordinator and/or Team Lead in screening job applicants, interviewing, and hiring new staff. Final decision-making on hiring and disciplinary actions within their areas of responsibility in conjunction with Human Resources.
  • Displays leadership by taking responsibility for actions and supporting EYE-Q initiatives and policies toward Company goals.
  • Works effectively to resolve employee conflict.
  • Addresses patient grievances, ensures proper completion and submission of Notable Case Forms, ensures completion of patient phone calls, and facilitates communication of patient transfers/deaths to the appropriate personnel.
  • Responsible for pharmaceutical activities/regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for VCSC equipment, reports medical device issues to the appropriate personnel, provides input for equipment purchases to the appropriate personnel, directs maintenance & repair requirements and maintains equipment manuals.
  • Responsible for purchasing activities: appropriate and cost-effective supply inventory, ordering activities and cost evaluations with support from purchasing specialist.
  • Responsible for addressing and ensuring compliance with accreditation and federal/state regulatory requirements for facility and actively participates in reaccreditation surveys.
  • Directs and participates in Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Program, ensuring all data collection, chart audits, and required reports are presented in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written/ oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Maintain all required state licensures. -Demonstration of appropriate team player attitude and enthusiasm.
  • Computer literate in Word, Excel NextGen and other office software and applications.
  • Record-keeping and basic accounting.
  • Extensive use of computer terminals and monitors.
  • Ability to manage stress and remain composed in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Ability to concentrate, retain information and remain focused throughout the workday.

EDUCATION:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, current registration in California with the Board of Registered Nursing.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year College or university, B.S.N. preferred.
  • Minimum of two years previous O.R. or O.P.S. experience required, prefer previous ophthalmic surgery experience.
  • Minimum of two years' previous management experience required. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in an optical setting.
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required.

This is a full-time position with a benefits package. Salary will be determined based on experience and training of the candidate. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled.

$114,000-160,000 per year
