At CASA Everyone Belongs

In California's ASCs, Everyone Belongs!

This Pride Month, CASA honors the LGBTQ+ professionals who have helped shape California’s ambulatory surgery centers into more inclusive, compassionate, and equitable spaces for patients and staff alike. Their leadership reminds us that healthcare is not just about clinical excellence—it’s also about creating environments where people feel seen, respected, and safe.

June is Pride Month — and at CASA, it serves as a meaningful reminder of something we already know to be true: every patient and every employee deserves to feel welcomed, respected, and cared for.

In the fast-paced world of ambulatory surgery, it can be easy to focus solely on clinical outcomes. But how we make people feel matters just as much as the care we deliver. A patient who feels seen and respected heals in an environment of trust. A staff member who feels valued brings their best self to work every day.

This month, we encourage every ASC team to take a moment to reflect on the small gestures that make a big difference — a warm greeting, using someone’s preferred name, listening without assumption, and treating every single person who enters your facility with dignity and compassion.

Inclusive care isn’t a program or a policy. It’s a daily practice — and it’s already at the heart of what great ASC teams do.

CASA is proud to stand alongside our member centers in that commitment. Happy Pride Month.
