Situation Overview

CDPH and EMSA are actively monitoring the Medline Warehouse Fire Incident that occurred on June 11th, 2026 in San Joaquin County and maintaining close coordination with local health departments, healthcare coalitions, and emergency response partners. At this time, situational awareness is ongoing, and updates will be provided as new information becomes available. All partners will be promptly notified if the situation changes or if additional actions are required.

Potential Impacts to Healthcare
Healthcare facilities and EMS agencies may experience:
• Delays or reductions in distribution of certain medical supplies routinely sourced through Medline.
• Increased demand on alternative distributors and supply partners.
• Potential shortages of high‑use consumables, durable medical equipment, or specialty items depending on product lines affected.
• Potential disruptions to routine operations.
• Need for rapid communication and coordination across systems.

Facilities should assess operational readiness and ensure continuity plans can be activated if conditions escalate. Healthcare providers are advised to report any immediate or sustained impacts from this incident to their Medical Health Operational Area Coordinator including resource requests, significantly increased demands on medical and public health assets, or impacts to the ability to provide clinical care.

Recommended Actions for Healthcare Facilities and EMS Providers
• Review and, if necessary, activate internal emergency operations plans.
• Conduct rapid assessments of critical supplies.
• Ensure that communication lines with local health departments and regional partners are open and monitored regularly.
• Report any significant operational challenges or potential system impacts through the Medical Health Operational Area Coordinator (MHOAC).
• Assess resource gaps early and communicate through established channels. Early communication allows the state to better coordinate procurement, allocation, and support.

Identify alternative suppliers to support immediate needs, and submit resource requests through the MHOAC for items that cannot be sourced internally.
